Hi, I’m Nichole Leary

I’d like to share how I landed here, the longer elevator speech.

First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to learn about me and consider my offerings.

I was born and raised in Northeast Philly in the Frankford neighborhood. I went to Penn State, where I received a degree in Sociology and Communications.

I come from a big family as the eldest of 9 kids. I am a twin and have 7 younger brothers. My twin sister passed away when we were nearly 25.

At the time, I was living and working in Baltimore at a travel company as a Regional Sales Manager and on-site Operations with Spring Break and High School Graduation group trips.

After my sister passed, I moved back home with my family for a short time before visiting San Diego and deciding to stay with just my suitcase.

I hit the ground running, trying to find a job. I wanted to work at a non-profit with kids. I started working at a pizza shop and a bar in the Gaslamp Quarter.

I have always held at least 2 jobs at a time, if not 3. In addition to those jobs, I accepted a staff position on the teen boys’ unit at a residential facility, followed by a 5-year tenure as a Therapeutic Behavior Counselor.

My most recent long-time role was with the San Diego Unified School District as a Rehabilitation Specialist. I spent nearly 11 years working with youth of all ages, with significant time at the middle school level focused on behavior modification.

As a Therapeutic Behavioral Counselor and Rehab Specialist, I worked directly with youth who had severe emotional and behavioral disorders.

I gained invaluable skills and knowledge. I was able to create and implement
